Former Secretary of Commerce and Peronist leader Guillermo Moreno commented on the mobilization called in rejection of President Javier Milei's statements at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Although he did not join the march, Moreno supported its legitimacy and argued that his space has other priorities, while agreeing to condemn the president's comments at the forum.
During an interview, Moreno criticized Milei's intervention at the international economic forum, stating that the march aims not to address economic or labor issues, but to repudiate the president's comments and defend citizens' rights. He also shared that he did not intend to divert attention from the main purpose of the mobilization, affirming that his space supports the march despite having a different agenda.
Moreno reasserted his stance not to mix the march with the presentation of candidates from his political sector, emphasizing that the planned activity of his space in Parque Lezama has different objectives. He also highlighted the importance of the people of Buenos Aires knowing the candidates who will represent the Peronist doctrine in the City.
The leader will not alter his plans to present legislative candidates at an event in Parque Lezama, even in the face of the mobilization against Milei. He assured that the citizens' response to attacks on certain sectors is valid and justified maintaining his scheduled event.
In an exchange during the interview, Moreno had a clash with a columnist from the radio station, La Criti, a drag queen and defender of LGBT+ rights. The journalist questioned Moreno about speaking on economic policy instead of focusing on the main reason for the march, while the leader criticized Milei for the form and content of his speech in Davos, arguing that certain topics should not be addressed in that international setting.
